Performance
QualityMax supports performance testing with k6, an open-source JavaScript load-testing tool. You can create a k6 script from a URL, an existing QualityMax test case, or a written scenario, then review and run the generated script through the supported execution workflow.
Define the workload first
Section titled “Define the workload first”Before generating a script, describe the behavior you want to measure:
- the user journey or HTTP requests to exercise;
- the number and shape of virtual users or iterations;
- the test duration and any ramp-up or ramp-down stages;
- thresholds for metrics such as request failures and response duration;
- test data, authentication, and environment constraints.
Generated scripts are starting points. Inspect requests, test data, cleanup behavior, and thresholds before running them against any shared environment. Use a controlled non-production target unless the system owner has approved the traffic profile.
Convert and run
Section titled “Convert and run”QualityMax can also prepare k6 scripts from supported test sources. Use the focused migration guide for your source:
Conversion cannot preserve every framework-specific behavior, so review the resulting JavaScript and confirm that its workload still represents the original scenario.
After execution, use the report to examine the configured threshold results and the metrics collected by k6. A passing threshold means that this run met the limits encoded in the script; it does not by itself establish production capacity or eliminate the need for repeatable tests under representative conditions.
